Vegas Top Picks - 2024

Wow, I can’t believe it’s that time already! Another year has completely whizzed by! I hope everyone had a fantastic holiday season and were able to rest and recharge! If you’re going to PBX this year, you’ll be sure to check out my favorites for this year! Vegas is an ever-changing city and I can’t wait to show you my Vegas Top Picks for 2024!

PETER LUGER - CAESAR’S PALACE

First up on the list is Peter Luger’s at Caesar’s Palace. It has some great differences between the Brooklyn property, being the biggest difference this one takes credit cards and isn’t cash only! The service was really great, and the steaks were super top notch. I highly recommend this restaurant. It takes the place of the former location of Rao’s next to the Bacchanal Buffet in Caesar’s.

After over 60 years, the legendary Peter Luger Steak House is finally spreading its wings beyond its classic spot. Since 1887, this place has been all about that awesome German beer-hall vibe, making it the go-to spot for everything from family get-togethers to big celebrations.

CASA PLAYA - ENCORE LAS VEGAS

Next up is Casa Playa! A fast favorite with me, this is fantastic coastal Baja elevated Mexican food with awesome and unique Mexican dishes in a really beautiful and bright dining room. A great time to go is their brunch buffet with awesome pulled pork tacos, fruits, cheeses, vegetables, and jaw dropping agua frescas!

Located at the Encore Las Vegas, attached to the Wynn near their Sports Book, a restaurant offers a captivating dining experience. As you enter, you are instantly transported into a world of elegance and brightness. The dining room, bathed in natural light, is adorned with chic decor that combines modern luxury with a touch of glamour, creating an atmosphere that uplifts your spirits. The tables are set with fine china and crystal glassware, reflecting the sophistication of the place. Among the exquisite dishes served, the elote, a traditional Mexican corn, stands out as a favorite. It's beautifully presented, with the vibrant colors of the corn and accompanying spices making it not only a delight to the taste but also a feast for the eyes.

NICCO’S - DURANGO LAS VEGAS

Nicco's, the newly opened steakhouse located at the Durango Casino near the intersection of 215 and Durango, close to IKEA, boasts a stellar menu that caters to a diverse range of tastes. Although it's technically labeled as a steakhouse, Nicco's menu extends far beyond the traditional steak offerings. The menu is simply a delight, featuring an array of awesome seafood options, each dish crafted to perfection, and stellar steaks.

Prime steaks are a highlight, with each cut selected for its quality and cooked to bring out its unique taste and texture. The attention to detail in the preparation of these steaks speaks to the expertise of the chefs and their dedication to delivering an exceptional dining experience.

But what truly sets Nicco's apart is its ambiance, particularly its very sexy dining room. The design is both modern and classic, creating an atmosphere of sophisticated elegance. The lighting is thoughtfully arranged to be flattering yet intimate, enhancing the overall dining experience. Frank Sinatra himself would have loved to hang out if he were around today.

PRINCE STREET PIZZA

For a more casual vibe, try the brand new Prince Street Pizza at Durango Casino! Home of the Soho Square. Prince St. Pizza offers a variety of New York and Sicilian style pizzas. Their oil-catching, crispy pepperoni square and signature Morano Family recipes have created a one-of-a-kind slice shop that’s often imitated but never duplicated. No other square can compare. And as always, No Ranch!

CATHEDRALE

This must be the year of New York restaurants coming to Las Vegas! Third on our list this year coming from New York is Cathedrale by the TAO Group. Great vibes in such a beautiful dining room and fantastic food!

“Cathédrale Restaurant honors the legacy and DNA of the original Cathédrale, located in New York City. The Las Vegas location extends the spirit of that layered, urban decadence and grit while celebrating the architectural drama, grandeur, and decorative flourish inherent to the restaurant’s brand.”
— Tao Group

Revolving sushi? Sure, it's been around for a while, but let me tell you about Kura Sushi – it's a gem! Nestled right in Chinatown and just a hop away from the strip, it's in the perfect spot for a fun outing. Picture this: a lively shopping center nearby, filled with cool stores and heaps of sweet dessert spots. It's the perfect place to stroll around and soak up the vibes after enjoying some yummy sushi.

And oh, the fun doesn't stop at sushi! There's this super cool robot that zips around bringing your drinks to you – it's like a little slice of the future, right there! If you're not big on chatting, you'll love this because you hardly need to talk to anyone. Plus, there's this neat game with your plates. After you're done eating, just pop them in a sliding tray and guess what? Every 15 plates or so, you get a surprise prize! It's like a mini celebration each time.

If you've got kids, they're going to love it too. It's just a great spot for families, especially if you're traveling with little ones. So, Kura Sushi? Definitely a thumbs-up from me!
