Everytime I make a sale, My Hue Lights turn green.

The long awaited post is finally here!

PReviously this blog was on our super boothers website, however we changed domains and the post was lost, but fear not! I have updated it, as there are many more ways to integrate this!

THE CONCEPT

The idea behind this was to create some sort of a visual in the office whenever someone books an event. I really wanted a visual cue that was motivating, and the green lights certainly do that!

What You Will Need

HOW DO DO IT

First, you are going to get your lights installed and create a philips hue account.

My favorite light of the moment is the beautiful Aura Glow Uplight. The magical thing about this is the bulb goes directly to the light, that is directly plugged into the wall. The only issue at the moment is this particular light fixture takes a GU10 Bulb. At the moment the only retailer currently in stock (or stock on the way) is b&H photo Video.

The same can also be accomplished with a nanoleaf kit, if you don’t want to use hue lights.

Once this is accomplished and after you’re doing playing with all of the colors and fun modes it offers, you can move on to the next step, connecting your booking system or merchant processor.

Next, create an account with IFTTT. the concept is very simple, If, this, then, That.

You can set this up any number of ways.

For example, your if can be:

  • If you merchant processor is Square, you can connect square to IFTTT. IF square, detects a payment is made.

  • If on your booking system, you can send an email to another IFTTT notification email.

  • If on your booking system, you can send a text to an IFTTT Notification texT

Checkout the video on how i connect my hue lights using square.

Thanks so much for reading this, I can’t wait to see what fun things you come up with!
